Job Title:  Accountant

Duty Station:  Kampala, Uganda

About US:

Kampala Motors Ltd (KML) is a limited liability company incorporated in 1985 and an established motor vehicle and genuine spare parts importer with over 30 years’ experience in the automobile industry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing company’s monthly financial statements/MIS and provide analytical commentary on performance
  • Prepare weekly payments schedule accurately as per internal approval policies
  • Ensuring statutory obligations (PAYE, VAT, WHT, LST and NSSF), income taxes and provisions are filed and paid for in time
  • Perform monthly payroll analysis linking it to various cost drivers
  • Acting as a contact point for both internal and external audits
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by line manger

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field
  • Professional qualifications CPA or ACCA Level II on each a distinct advantage.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role in a reputable company directly involved in financial reporting
  • Experience in use of Tally accounting system
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and demonstrate integrity, independent thinking, sound judgement and attention to details.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and related data analysis tools.
