HIGH COURT VS TYCOON SHUKLA MUKESH, JUSTICE TO PREVAIL

 

The High Court in Kampala has stayed the operation of an order to do with the arrest warrant  on Businessman Shukla Mukesh on Tuesday.

The warrant that was officiated on 13th/July/2022 guiding Police to arrest Businessman Mr. Shukla Mukesh on sight.

Pending determination of the main application, Mukesh has filed challenging the amount due to Nakawa West MP Joel Ssenyonyi as exhobitant.

To reflect,  Shukla Mukesh was among the contestants vying to become Member of Parliament representing Nakawa West with Joel Ssenyoni emerging victorious.

Justice Ssekaana explains he has issued the order in the interest of Justice to prevail.

According to the Deputy Registrar Jameson Karemani On 13th July 2022, ” Court ordered Police to arrest Mukesh and produce him before Court by 30th August 2022 to show cause why he shouldn’t be committed to civil prison for six months.”

He added that this was for failure to pay Nakawa West MP Joel Ssenyonyi 73,050,000shs costs of the election petition appeal he lost to him.

MP Ssenyonyi and his Lawyers were not part to this temporary application for stay of execution.

Mr. Mukesh through his legal officer Badru Muwango describes that the 73,050,000shs issued by Deputy Registrar Jameson Karemani is too much and that he was not around when it was passed.

Also Mr. Mukesh says he was not issued/served and never received any notices of the payments.

“The court doesn’t have any evidence of serving me any documents,he said.”

“I am sure to meet Joel ssenyonyi and I have congratulated him that in the last two years he has  served tremendously in his works.”

Mukesh however adds, he is to discuss development issues with Joel Ssenyonyi on how to improve the livelihood of the voters of Nakawa West.
