JOB DETAILS:
Mountains of the Moon University was established as a private chartered university under the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act of 2001 to provide quality teaching and learning that is relevant and competitive; offer courses that address the needs of the local, national and international community; promote research for the social- economic and political development of the country; and engage in activities for self- sustainability. The Ministry of Education and Sports appointed a Taskforce to manage the Transition of MMU from Private to Public University for the next two years.
The Transition Taskforce is seeking to fill up the following temporary positions with suitably qualified and skilled individual.
POSITION: Senior Planning Officer (Economist]
REPORTS TO: Secretary MMU Transition Taskforce {TIE}
JOB TYPE: ‘Temporary for one year
JOB SALARY: Attractive
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Manage and coordinate the development, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of University-wide planning, investment and resource mobilization processes..

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical support to the units in preparation and production of university plans.
• Supervise the preparation and dissemination of performance standards and indicator for the university to users.
• Participate in formulating, developing, coordinating the university development plans and budgets.
• Coordinate, monitor and evaluate performance of the university development plans, programs and projects
• Oversee the Development and maintenance of an updated databank.

EDUCATION CREDENTIALS
Master ‘s degree in either Economic Policy and Planning or Master’s in Economics

WORK EXPERIENCES
A minimum of 8 years relevant working experience, 4 of which must have been at senior management level in a public service.

WORK COMPETENCIES
• Demonstrated applied quantitative research, survey designs, statistical modeling, problemsolving, critical and strategic
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• A team player with good interpersonal relations.
