Pepsi University Football League: Uganda Martyrs University Qualifies to Knockout Stage

Uganda Martyrs University became the first team to qualify for the knockout stage of the Pepsi University Football League after a 2-0 win in Mbale over Islamic University In Uganda on Saturday 06th April 2019.

Goals from Nsereko Shafic in the 70th minute and John Nakibinge’s strike in the 90th minute gave the Nkozi based University a highly deserved win. The Result saw off Uganda Martyrs top Group B with 10 from four games.

Meanwhile, Nkumba University edged closer to qualification after their 2-0 win at home over Bishop Stuart University.

Elsewhere, St. Lawrence university came from behind to make a 1-1 draw with Gulu University in the Pepsi University Football League on Friday 05th April 2019.

Geoffrey Opwonya gave hosts Gulu the lead in the 15th minute but Ibrahim Kasule levelled matters for St. Lawrence in the 50th minute of the game.

Result left St. Lawrence in second position in group C with six points from six games and Gulu at the bottom of the table with only two points from four games.
