The Victoria University is launching its Bachelor of Health Inaugural Scholarships to pursue Bachelor of Health program within the new Faculty of Health in 2018. Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents of at least two years’ standing.

The purpose of the Victoria Bachelor of Health Inaugural Scholarship (“the Scholarship”) is to launch the Bachelor of Health program within the new Faculty of Health and invite students to participate in this unique Pan-University offering.

Victoria University has world-leading researchers available to supervise successful graduate research scholarship applicants to become the next generation of research-qualified professionals.

Students require accepted evidence to demonstrate their English language proficiency.

Course Level: Scholarship is available to pursue Bachelor degree program.

Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded to pursue Bachelor of Health program within the new Faculty of Health.

Scholarship Award: Scholarships for study in 2018 will be awarded competitively on the basis of academic merit and other criteria. These scholarships will be awarded at a value of up to $5,000 with a minimum scholarship of $1,000.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Applications close on 15th September 2017 for study in 2018. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation must also be received by the University by 20th September 2017 in order for the application to be considered.
  • All offers of the Scholarship will be conditional upon the recipient being fully enrolled in a full-year Bachelor of Health program of at least 105 points by the start of Trimester 1, 2018. No payment of the Scholarship will be made until this condition is met.
  • The Scholarship cannot be deferred to a later year.
  • Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents of at least two years’ standing.
  • Applicants must provide their NSN, or other candidate number and center number for their qualification type.
  • Applicants must either; a. be in Year 13 or have already completed Year 13 in the year prior to being eligible to apply for this Scholarship or b. be mature students who meet the criteria for entry into the program.
  • Applicants who have taken a (single) gap year after completing Year 13 may apply for the Scholarship. They must apply in the year prior to starting study at Victoria (this criterion does not apply to mature student applicants).
  • Applicants are expected to have their NCEA Level 2 Certificate endorsed with Merit, or equivalent in another qualification. The equivalent for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) is a score of 170 across no more than four subjects on the UCAS tariff. The equivalent for International Baccalaureate (IB) is a predicted grade of 31 (which will need to be confirmed in January once IB results are available). Some conditions apply—see regulation 9. Credits must be gained in Year 12; credits gained in Year 13 cannot be included (except for IB students).
