UTAMU new students encouraged to observe university policies and guidelines

The new students admitted on undergraduate courses at Uganda Technology And Management University (UTAMU) in the 2015 May intake have been undergoing through orientation.

The Academic staff engaged the new students, giving them an insight on the teaching and learning techniques to be used during the course of their study at UTAMU.

Students were taken through the policies and guidelines for university and urged to adhere to them.

The interactive exercise was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Venansius Baryamureeba, Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude T. Lubega, Director Academic Affairs, Deans of Schools and the management staff.

Speaking to the students, Professor Baryamureeba encouraged them to utilize all the learning resources availed to them including the E-Library as they focus on achieving their goals.

“Success is not for everybody! You must attach value to your studies by working hard and exploring various opportunities,” Baryamureeba said.

During the exercise, the Director for Academic Affairs, Prof. Rehema Baguma said all the students will be availed with information regarding their programmes, timetables and the various teaching and learning models.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Jude T. Lubega assured the students of a conducive learning environment as they study at UTAMU.

At the end, the students were able to interact with their counterparts and academic staff through a question and answer session.
