Job Title:  Weighbridge Controller

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda

Report to: Assistant Commissioner/Road and Pipeline Transport Regulation

About US:

The Ministry of Works and Transport has a mandate to plan, develop and maintain an economic, efficient and effective transport infrastructure; &transport services by road, rail, water, and air. They are also mandated to manage public works including Government Structures and promote standards in the construction industry. The Mission of the Ministry is “to promote an adequate, safe and well maintained public works and transport infrastructure and services so as to effectively contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.”

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Actively monitor Axle Load Surveys.
  • Conduct Axle Load Surveys.
  • Responsible for developing work plans, financial budgeting and progress reports on axle loading.
  • Mentor and supervise staff and training of weighbridge scale -attendants.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicants for the Weighbridge Controller placement should be Ugandans holding Honours Bachelor’s Degrees from recognized Universities or Institutions.
  • At least four years’ experience in Axle load Control Management
  • The applicant must be computer literate and able to demonstrate management skills in human resource and equipment handling
  • Possess a Valid Driving Permit.

Age: 22 years and above
