University Students' Marathon

Makerere University Students’ Education Foundation (MUSEF) is organizing a marathon, University Students’ Marathon. This is the first of several student events that are organised by this foundation to raise funds to support deserving students to complete their studies.

The marathon is due on Sunday 10th March, 2013.

MUSEF is delighted to invite you to join the cause, to create alternative sources of funding for privately sponsored students to enable them to pay their tuition on time. MUSEF is currently designing the tuition support packages that shall include Interest-free salary education loans, student education loans, partial and full scholarships among others.
NB: This project has been nominated as a semi-finalist in the Dell Social Innovation Challenge 2013 to compete for US$350,000.
Programme for Day of Marathon
6.00am Arrival of organizers at flag point
7.00am Arrival and registration of participants
8.00am Flag off at Makerere Freedom Square
12.00 pm Speeches and Entertainment
6.00pm-12.00 am After party at Makerere University Guild Canteen
Participants Registration
There shall be three categories of participants i.e.
(a) university students: students possessing a valid identity card of Makerere University
(b) Alumni: any member of the public who graduated from Makerere University
(c) Well-wishers: any adult who doesn’t belong to (a) or (b) above
Each category of participants shall pay registration fees per head as follows:
Registration fees (UGX)
University student 3, 000
Alumni 20, 000
Well-wisher 10, 000
Corporate companies shall also be allowed to sponsor corporate teams of five. Depending on the composition of the team, the registration fees shall be as follows:

University students 100, 000
Alumni 500, 000
Well-wishers 300, 000
