Across West Africa, Ebola-related deaths are on the rise. Experts estimate that this devastating virus–which claims more than 50 percent of all its victims–has the potential to double its reach every three weeks. In the worst affected countries including Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, the public health infrastructure is under strain.

That is why we at USAID have launched Fighting Ebola:  A Grand Challenge for Development. Issued in coordination with the White House Office of Science and Technology, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Defense, this Grand Challenge for Development will provide rapid solutions to countries that need our help the most.

We need your ideas and innovations now to fight Ebola.

Here are two ways that you can contribute today:

  • Join a global conversation with an online community of solvers hosted by OpenIDEO around key areas. Add your stories and insights to the Research phase or head straight to the Ideas phase and contribute to a mission that inspires you.
  • Submit ideas to our open call for innovation to identify, develop and test some of the most promising innovations through challenge grants and partnerships.
