About UNCST: The Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a Government of Uganda Agency, established by CAP 209, under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development. The Council is mandated to facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and strategies for integrating Science and Technology (S&T) into the national development process.

The Government of Uganda through the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST) will be implementing the 2014/15 Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Surveys as a platform to collect statistical data and information to guide government to have a better understanding of the functioning of Uganda’s STI system. The enumeration for component one of the surveys (National Innovation Survey and Business Research and Development- R&D Survey) will be conducted in the period June-July 2015, and it will involve a team of enumerators visiting specific business enterprises in Uganda during the specified period.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Attend and participate in all training sessions;
  • In charge of collecting statistical data and information on R&D and Innovation activities;
  • Ensure that all survey materials/equipment are properly handled, used and returnee! to the immediate Supervisor; and
  • Perform any other functions which the immediate Supervisor may assign from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidates for the Enumerator Jobs must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a Credit in English and Mathematics at O-Level;
  • The applicant must be a mature person;
  • Good conduct and a responsible citizen;
  • The applicant must also have a legible and neat handwriting;
  • Should be a socially acceptable person;
  • Must be fluent in the main local language of the district of residence (Check in Duty Station at Top of advert);
  • Should be of sound mind; and
  • Must be available throughout the survey period (June-July 2015).

NB: The applicants should presently be residing or based in the district under consideration.
