50 Cross to FDC As Party Prepares Launch
This may not be food for opposition parties (chapters) at Nkumba university as the ruling Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) Chapter is expanding support day and night with hundreds of students deciding to change with change.
This happened at the FDC party’s first meeting at NB1 scenery on Monday 25th, August, 2014.
More than 50 students from different political parties such as National Resistance Movement (NRM) , Democratic Party among others handed over their party Identity Cards to the FDC chapter president, Byansi Henry a.k.a Peace maker.
One student who preferred anonymity from NRM after changing his mind to FDC said that, he crossed to the change side due to the outlined party youth associations like the students union an d the FDC youth league. He admitted NRM’s youth movements had cliques within them.
Among the changed was former Kalende clare’s campaign manager Tumusiime Pedius who has been independent.
The meeting was about laying strategies to recruit new members, setting up FDC SACCO to help students in borrowing and lending each other money during financial constraints.
The chapter president Byansi encouraged his comrades to buy the identity cards for easy identification and support the party financially. He also unveiled that they are planning to launch their party officially in the university in a few days to come.
