JOB DETAILS:
The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) seeks to hire Four (4) suitable candidates for the position of RESEARCH OFFICER to be based in Kampala with frequent travel to the field sites.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out process tracking of Global Fund and GAVI streams of funding at national and sub-national levels by:
  • Participant observation at meetings.

Key informant interviews

  • Will be in charge of reviewing documents and synthesizing information for the inception phase that will inform the Theories of change, data assessment mapping and the evaluation phase planning.
  • Actively participate in development of data collection tools, and data collection
    activities tracking processes pertaining to the implementation of Global Fund and GAVI streams of funding in Uganda at national and sub-national levels.
  • Synthesize and analyze data in accordance to milestone tables and theories of change.
  • Contribute to the development of Global Fund and GAVI annual country reports, as well as cross country reports and policy briefs
  • Participate dissemination meetings for Global Fund PCE and GAVI findings to all stakeholders
  • Participate in planning stakeholder meetings pertaining to process evaluation

Qualifications and other desirables for the job:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of these fields: Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Public Health, Social Work & Social Administration, Development Studies.
  • Masters Degree in Public Health or a related field is a MUST
  • Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Good knowledge of health systems especially HIV/TB, Malaria and immunization programs in Uganda
  • Skills in computer based data collection and strong quantitative research experience
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines and to work independently
