13 nominated for Makerere university Guild President 2014/15

Guild Campaigns at Makerere university have heated up

Makerere University Guild Electoral Commission nominated 13 candidates for Guild President 2014/15. Guild elections for this year will be held on 19th March 2014.

Harris Justus Akampurira, the Commission’s General Secretary, said 14 candidates had picked nomination forms but only 13 managed to return them.

The nominated candidates for Makerere university Guild top job  include FDC’s Benson Chark, UYD’s Sarah Aseru, NRM’s Boniface Junior Mbabazi, Ivan Bwowe (Independent), Faisal Muyiga Kisiki(Independent), Musiime Philip (Independent) Julius Tabaaro (Independent)and Eddy Kintu (Independent).

Others Guild candidates are; Lillian Aber(Independent), Emmanuel Wanyama Ojambo (Independent), Sam Bamakech (Independent), Emmanuel Murungi (Independent) and Nicholas Nanyenya (Independent).

However, since the nominations, four candidates have so far been fired from the guild race for lack of academic qualification.

The red carded candidates include Mbabazi Boniface Junior, Emmanuel Wanyama, Faisal Muyiga and Emmanuel Murungi.
