Students of Makerere University have held a peaceful demonstration over what they call unfair University policies.

It should be noted in a communique passed by the University Academic registrar demanding that students should have fully completed tuition by 14th March if they are to Sit for coursework and tests.

On Wednesday 11th March,  news circulated that Makerere university administrators had pushed the deadline to 27th March 2015.

‘We don’t want them to extend,  the policy should be scrapped off,’ protested an angry  student. At the beginning of the semester, the University allowed students to register even before paying tuition.

Makerere University guild president aspirant,  Opoya Micheal says the University is unfair. ‘It’s impossible for self sponsored students to raise the money within six weeks, ‘ he stressed.

Namulidwa Stella,  another Guild aspirant said the University should tolerate poor students.
By press time,  the demonstration was yet peaceful and students were walking around campus calling for colleagues to join them.
